AlgerBrush II is battery powered, manual, low torque. It is designed to remove foreign bodies from the cornea or sclera of patients.

The drill in the rotary instrument serves more as a "brush" than the drill and foreign bodies are therefore "swept" out of the eye, leaving a smooth surface, which in turn means faster recovery, faster healing than other instruments that can be used for this purpose.

According to a recent document (Veterinary Ophthalmology (2013), 16, 2, 83-88), it is successfully used to treat corneal epithelial lesions (SCCEDs) in dogs in combination with a bandage contact lens.
